| Contract warehousing refers to a longer term
commitment between a client and the logistics service provider than a public warehousing
agreement. Value-added services such as packaging, cross-docking, labeling, and light
manufacturing are often included in these operations. The scope of services is normally
more explicitly spelled out than with public warehouse services. The objective here is to
ensure that we are in a position to meet or exceed your business goals and objectives.
Contract warehousing is a dedicated and focused operation where the client and provider agree upon annual budgets, service levels, and process improvements. Rather than a per-unit-based rate application, contract warehousing generally involves a management fee with gain-sharing incentives. Due to the longer-term relationship, contract warehousing operations are not limited to utilizing our existing public facilities. We are willing and able to secure facilities in ideal locations whether built-to-suit or leased to best support your business. If you would like to discover how you can improve your service levels while lowering the overall cost of your operations, we at Elston-Richards believe we can help.
