Public warehousing generally refers to handling and storage of goods and raw materials with a short-term commitment. Value-added services including packaging, labeling and light manufacturing can also be provided. Rates for services performed are generally calculated on a per-unit basis: for example, an agreed-upon price for each pallet stored, each carton moved, each pound handled, each square foot occupied, etc. Inventory management controls and reports can be customized to meet individual client requirements.
